In this post, I will be sharing my review on the newest all-you-can-eat shabu shabu restaurant, Shabu Zone in Houston. It's located in Hong Kong City Mall, just few minutes from Bellaire. Let's get right into the review for Shabu Zone, Asian fusion restaurant in Houston!
Shabu Zone has spacious and clean interior. It's for all since there are tables for 2 people, 4 people, 6 and even for groups at the back.
2. Shabu Shabu
This will be your view when you sit down. You have your own pot where you can put whatever you'd like without having to worry about others. The control setting is right below the table in the middle.
It's pretty much self-explanatory, but first you choose your broth. I normally go with the basic because I like drinking the broth after I put veggies, seafood & everything. I feel like if you go with strong broth, it might change the taste of the food. But you do you. Also if you want another fresh pot of broth, they charge you $1.
3. All You Can Eat
As you can see from the photos above, Shabu Zone has a lot of different sections from noodles, vegetables, seafood, mushroom, fishcakes and more. I normally start from the noodles section but there's really no order.
You can order meat up to 3 kinds at once. They are thinly sliced meat which I personally like. They have a large selection of meat & I actually tried them all. Honestly all of them tasted almost the same for me, I think it's because you can't really tell which one is which when they come out. They have 8 different sauces. I really liked the sweet corn sauce and spicy/regular ponzu sauce to dip my meat in. Others are sesame sauce, sweet garlic, wasabi coconut, and more.
They also have this dessert corner with bunch of gummies and fruits available. On the right side, they also have many different flavors of ice cream.
5. Other Details
Shabu Zone Houston hours are from 11am-11pm. They only have this location right now in Bellaire. Shabu Zone price is $16.99 for lunch and $25.99 for dinner. If you are a vegetarian, you can try Shabu Zone for $12.99 for lunch and $18.99 for dinner. When I went around 4pm, it wasn't as crowded and was perfect to enjoy the meal. When I went around 5pm, it was already too late, because around 6:30pm, it was very crowded!
6. Final Thoughts on Shabu Zone Houston
I really like this place overall. I personally love shabu shabu and this all-you-can-eat and having your own shabu pot concept is awesome. You can get the modern shabu shabu dining experience here. The staffs are friendly and they always check on you to see if you need anything. There's almost no wait since as I mentioned, Shazu Zone is really spacious.
