July Beauty Favorites

8/16/2017

It's already half way in August, so I thought I'd get back to my Favorites Series! You can check out my previous favorites here. Last month, I started to be more interested in eye shadow palettes, contouring, and just general beauty stuff. So I want to share my top 6 favorite beauty products!

1. Kylie - Take Me On Vacation
Isn't the palette name so creative? This eyeshadow palette is so pretty! I always read the reviews of beauty products before purchasing them and this time, I watched this video made by Jefree Star. She is a beauty You-Tuber, makeup artist, and cosmetic creator who shares her honest reviews with her audience. I love her videos since it's funny. You can watch her review from 5:45.

Here's my review. I really like all the shades and how colorful they are. The pigment is really strong so I think you can use this palette for a long time. It comes with a brush which isn't the highest quality but still useable. The palette consists 16 shades and the packaging is so cute. When you receive it, you will also get a card from Kylie herself which I think it is thoughtful. The palette itself is really light, smooth, and perfect to carry around. If you are thinking of buying an eyeshadow palette with a lot of bold but pretty colors, Kylie take me on a vacation palette is perfect for you!

2. Lancome - Monsieur Big
I received this mascara along with Bi-Facil makeup remover and Lancome CILS Booster XL for free from Influenster. While the makeup remover has a floral scent and CILS Booster XL being a good base for your eyelashes, I really want to dive in this Monsieur Big Mascara. This product is so far my favorite mascara product. It's waterproof, lasts long, elongates and volumizes your eyelashes. If you have short eyelashes like me, you might want to check this one out! The packaging also so modern and chic. I'm using this every day.

3. Aerie - Be Sunnie
I do like fragrances, but I personally like body mists and sprays more as they have the light and fresh scent. What about you? I think body mists have more and they are less expensive. My new favorite is this Be Sunnie body mist with aloe by Aerie. I always thought Aerie was underwear brand, but when I went to the mall the other day, they had more than just underwear. They had face masks, lotion, body spray & mists! I love how the spray bottle works perfectly fine because sometimes the spray bottle comes damaged (for example, when I purchased body mist from Hollister, the spray bottle was damaged and cracked). Anyways, Be Sunnie scent is sparkling citrus & sea salt which smells fantastic!

4. Too Faced - Cocoa Contour
I finally got my own contour kit after watching more than 10 YouTube videos about contouring. Yay! It's funny since I am still learning, but the best part is I love experimenting new products on my face! So this cocoa contour and highlighting kit actually smell like cocoa. So every time I use this, I feel like I'm putting chocolate powder on my face. (LOL) The scent isn't too bothering so you don't have to worry about it.

I normally mix the medium and dark cocoa to contour and then use the pop of light highlighter to brighten up my face.  This product comes with a contouring guide manual which is really helpful. It also comes with the super soft Contour Buki brush. I guess this product is very popular since it was the last contour kit in Sephora that day!

5. Fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner
This facial toner is all I wanted except that it's not in a spray form. But I love the bottle, so it equals out I guess. I know brand Fresh is reliable since I used to use their lip moisturizer in high school and it's the most moisturizing product just like vaseline but with chic packaging and lovely scent. This deep hydration facial toner right here has a rose pedal inside - which definitely smells like the rose. I've been using it every morning and it definitely freshens me up, keeps my skin soft and moisturized! If you have a dry skin like me, I think this would make a perfect facial toner for you!

6. Urban Decay - Naked 3
As you can see in my photo, this one isn't my recent purchase, but a palette I really like. I love eyeshadows that are pink tone and that's why Naked 3 palette was a perfect fit for me. This palette comes with a brush just like Kylie's Take me on vacation palette but unlike hers, it's easier to use. (A lot of times I use my ring finger to put shades on my eyes and Naked 3 palette makes it so easy because of the shape). In case you didn't know, there's Naked 1 & 2, as well as the new heat palette. If you like pinkish brownish tones, this Naked 3 palette will be gorgeous on you!
