1. Planner
College workload can be a lot especially when you have five different classes! (and work after classes!) To organize and make sure to turn every assignments in a timely manner, owning a planner is a must! It really helped me so much. This is the planner I currently use. The design is so cute, and I totally love the format.
2. Laptop
Another necessary item! I like to write every single thing the professor mentions. It depends on which study method you prefer, but for me, rather than writing notes in the notebook, typing on my Microsoft OneNote makes everything more easier! I currently use this MacBook!
3. Backpack
Nothing holds sturdy as a basic backpack. I bought this pink backpack for $10 in Korea.
Not sure which brand it is from... it says Tipings, but I can't find it in Google.
I am using it so well. You can always customize it by adding pins & keychains like me! I believe an alternative backpack brand is JanSport.
4. Handbags
Sometimes, you will have guest speakers or career fairs to attend. For these events, you really can't use your basic backpack since it doesn't go with your outfit. That's when these handbags are for! Take a look at my 8 Affordable Handbags post to get an idea! :)
5. Phone
I doubt that anyone would not have a phone these days, but if you don't, you would probably want to buy one. Phone is a must item to communicate with your peers for class projects or assignments! Even some professors require you to have one for simple in class polls or clicker quizzes. I'm currently using an iPhone 6S . (I chose the 6S over 6 because I wanted the rose gold one)
6. Comfy pair of leggings/pants
As I said earlier, college can be quite busy. First few weeks of school, you want to wear nice pretty clothes, matching shoes... but after a month, you will just be so busy (or lazy), you will need a go-to pair of leggings. The pair of leggings or pants saved me several times! (the good thing is, it goes with any shirt.) My current favorite leggings are from Aritzia. Their leggings are literally so soft and fitting!
7. Pencils/Pens
I tend to forget my pens & pencils since I take notes on my mac. However, you should bring at least have one pencil since sometimes your professor might say 'take a piece of paper & a pencil, and put everything off the desk' Or for in-class exams, you definitely need it! This is the pack I always buy from Walmart during 'back to school' sale. For pens, I normally just use the ones I get from school for free.
8. Warm sweatshirt
Similar to #6, the classrooms or library tend to get cold. (not just cold, FREEZING) (As a Univ. of Houston student, I know this so well.) But even if you live somewhere less hotter than Houston, bring it to school in case! At least you won't get cold :P
9. Friends
I wouldn't categorize in 'essentials' ... but I just thought having one or two friends in same class is really helpful than having no one. Cuz making new friends is always fun, right? :) Be my friend on instagram <3 If you liked my post, don't forget to hit the like button!
