I have decided to write on this subject because happiness is something you can't buy with money and not guaranteed every day. Trying to be happy is one of the things I always want to make it work. No one can do it for you. Life is all about making yourself happy, creating your own happiness and becoming happy with something/someone around you. If you are reading this post, you probably will be wondering what a happy person is like!
So let's check out these 7 ways to become a happy person. In the end, life with happiness matters.
1. Do Things You Love
Do things you really like. Whether it's reading, going out and taking pictures, meeting new friends, playing games at home, or cooking, there's always something to learn from those activities. Learning doesn't come only from studying. You can learn from your daily activities so do something you love.
2. Get Off Social Media
Social media is fun because you connect with people, but at the same time, a lot of negativity comes with it. It's all about who gets the "most attention" and how other people "think about you". Whether you know it or not, this affects a lot of people, including me. Sometimes, when I am on social media, I feel like I need to show how many "likes" I got, how many people are "following" me, or how "amazing" my life is, and that sometimes bothers me. Have you ever felt that way?
3. Workout Regularly
When I am stressed, I go to the gym and workout. While jogging, lifting weights, or walking on the treadmill, I think about my day. These 1-2 hours where you can have your "me time" is important. Hitting the gym also keeps your body fit, clean, healthy, and strong. The best way for me to workout is while watching Netflix or YouTube. Normally one episode on Netflix lasts 45 minutes. This is perfect for you to workout 1-2 hours while watching a favorite show.
4. Read More Books
I think reading books really change the way you think. For me, it did. Rather than reading 50 books without divulging the content, reading 1 book and understanding everything is better. Not only reading books will educate you, you always learn something from books. When you do, always keep a pencil by your side. With the pencil, take notes, underline important facts, or things that you want to come back and remind yourself. Become an active reader, not a passive one. I normally order my books from Amazon since they have selection of wide range of books and with inexpensive price! Even used versions are clean and you can also get it as e-copy. 5. Sleep Well
Sleeping well really matters especially if you have to balance a lot of tasks. Simply depending on caffeine isn't good because too much caffeine could easily stain your teeth and harm your body. The best time to sleep is around 11 pm and then waking up at 6-7am. That's a good 7-8 hours sleep which is ideal. Sleeping properly keeps you motivated, alert, and ready to get on with another day.
6. Don't Worry Too Much
Overthinking or worrying about smallest things is not going to do anything well. It all starts with "what if"... Most of the time, we worry about the things that are not going to happen or overthink about the things that actually don't matter that much. It's difficult to not worry, but you need to start trying not to. This happens to a lot of people, including me! Worrying can lead to unnecessary stress. The best practice is to take time to let your worries go and start fresh. It also feels so much better when you don't have to worry about something.
7. Look At Animal Photos
If you love animals, this shouldn't be difficult for you. There's a reason why dogs or other animals are best friends of a person. They are always loyal to you. My favorite animal is a fluffy golden retriever. They are super cute. From my experience, looking at furry animal photos or videos will make you happy and smile.
