5 Simple & Easy Breakfast Ideas

5-simple-and-easy-breakfast-ideas
We tend to skip meals in the morning & buy unhealthy food throughout the day. Are you doing that? I used to be like that too; but not anymore! I've been eating at home lately rather than eating out. Why? Because homemade food is one of the best ways to cut calories and lose weight. A lot of times, even if you try to eat healthy outside, you still don't know what's going inside your salad or which dressing is going to top it.

There's an old adage: "Eat breakfast like a king,  lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper." Try to eat a lot in the morning even if you are not hungry because what you eat in the morning will boost your energy and satisfy your "non-stop" appetite throughout the day. Dinner is the meal you eat hours before you sleep, so eating less is the best. Not only it will help you lose weight, but it will also keep your stomach light. You don't need to worry about bloating or feeling heavy.

While we are all busy with work, school, family, and personal life, here are some 5 simple and easy breakfast you can prepare under 10 minutes. (Under 10min? Really? YES!)

1. Greek Yogurt + Fruits
This one is so easy to make. Just buy a plain or original Greek Yogurt and then mix it with your favorite fruits. Mine will be blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries! (love all types of berries)

If you don't have time to wash and prep the fruits in the morning, do them at night! I promise it won't even take long. For blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, just wash them. For strawberries, it depends. You can take out the leaf while eating or you can just chop all of them off before eating. I normally chop them off before eating which makes my life easier.

Below is a "life hack" for getting rid of the strawberry stems before you eat them (watch from 0:30). I actually tried, and while it does work, it takes forever. The strawberry and leaf both gets stuck inside your straw which you would probably need a good 30 straws to perform this task. LOL.

2. Cereal + milk
Buy any cereal you want. Buy the milk. If you are lactose intolerant like me, use almond or soy milk instead. In the morning, just pour them together into a bowl and eat it! Super simple, isn't it?

I personally can't eat the same cereal over and over, so I prefer buying differently flavored cereals. But if you only enjoy the certain type of cereal and buy one cereal in bulk, you can use this container to keep your cereal airtight. It is so useful because sometimes, I just forget to close my cereal bag and a few hours later, it will all get mushy!

3. Eggs
There are a lot of ways to cook eggs. Whether you are making it as a sunny side up, boiled, or scrambled, it is very nutritious for you. I enjoy eating it as boiled since you can grab it before you leave. Eating boiled eggs are one of the best ways to lose weight when you are on diet. It fills you up for a long duration, and since it's high in protein, it's healthy for you too.

Steps for success on peeling your boiled egg:
1. Boil the egg for 10-15 minutes in hot water.
2. Rinse with ice cold water for about 10 seconds.
3. Remove them from the water.
4. Put them in a separate bowl.
5. Start peeling.
Because nothing sucks more than eggs not peeling properly and shells breaking down into small pieces.

4. Smoothie
Healthy smoothies are great for breakfast if you are running out of time. Just blend everything in and there you have it!

Normally I mix blueberry & strawberry and top with some good amount of honey! Add some plain yogurt and voila! It tastes so good! Also, for milk, I use soy or almond. Don't forget to blend the ice cubes along with it! What are some of your favorite way of making smoothies for breakfast?

For a blender, I use the Rival personal blender which I really like! It comes with a travel lid which fits the blender cup as well - so whenever you blend your smoothie, you don't have to change the bottle. Just change the lid and you are good to go.

5. Any type of fruit you like
The easiest breakfast for anyone! My go-to on the spot are a banana, apple, or tomatoes. Grapes maybe, but then you need to take the grapes off from the branches. (Too much work when you don't have time)

Tomatoes are probably my favorite breakfast since it's easy to prep under 3 minutes. Washing them just takes 1 min and you can eat it right away. I normally buy the ones from Kroger or HEB. Not only they have low calories, they also fill you up real quick! At least for the next 2 1/2 hours, you won't be hungry.
