Hey y'all!
Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Although it's on Tuesday, you can always spend time with your significant other over dinner! Let's get right into these 5 adorable gifts to share on valentine's day. 1. Send Personalized M&M chocolate Nothings more special than personalized gift! M&M offers chocolate where you can send your own messages on the chocolate! So cute, right? Click here to create yours today! 2. Write Poems to Each Other Some might say 'who writes poems these days?' Poems are thoughtful, calm and relaxing. It's fine to write even though you are not a poet. Try writing a letter in a form of poem; I think it would make a memorable present! **By the way, if you are a University of Houston student who wants to win $2,500 for your poem, this is where you should apply. It's due Feb 15th, 2017. It never hurts to try! ^___^ 3. Create Flower Bouquet Filled With Sweets In my personal opinion, flowers doesn't last long, which is sad. (Throwing away the dead flowers in few days... is something I don't want to do.) Rather than buying a real flower, what about a candy basket or chocolate bouquet? It will be a Valentine's Day themed bouquet! 4. Bake French Macarons! A great gift to share on Valentine's Day! Macarons look great in all colors, so why not make some and share with your loves? Oh, by the way, since we (or maybe just me) sometimes get confused between "macarons" and "macaroon", let's clarify the terms & learn! Macarons (also called as French macarons): "a meringue-based cookie made with almond flour, egg whites, and granulated and powdered sugar, then filled with buttercream, ganache or fruit curd." Macaroons (also known as coconut macaroons): "egg whites, sugar, and dried coconut, often piped with a star-shaped tip, and sometimes dipped in chocolate" [I got the definition of these two from this article.]
French macarons are so delicious and pretty! I added these two video clips if you want to make some! The left one are regular french macarons, and the right one is the same thing, but has a bit of the creators' spin in it! If you just want to buy macarons, Houston definitely has a lot delicious macaron shops! 5. Study Together Well this might sound odd, but I actually do not put Valentine's Day as a huge deal compared to other holidays such as Christmas, or birthdays. Last year, we ended up studying at the bubble tea house on Valentine's Day. It's not as worse as you think. Spending time while studying together is productive and fun! |
