healthy-snacks-to-lose-weight
Today I have healthy snacks that will keep your body fit! Have you ever experienced where you crave something while you are studying, watching movies, or hanging out with friends? That's me everyday! I made this healthy snack guide for both of us, so we can eat something healthy rather than junk food. Of course, adding your workout in your schedule will bring the best results. So without further ado, let's get right into it!

1. Hard Boiled Eggs
Eggs are good source of protein. It also fills you up pretty quickly. It's definitely a great snack if you are hungry but want to eat something healthy. Eggs are also delicious too, and goes with a lot of meals. To list a few: salad, rice, noodles and more! 1-2 eggs a day is a good intake for adults.

Easy way to peel hard boiled eggs:
1. After you boil them in the hot water, put them in cold or ice water for few minutes.
2. Drain all the water out.
3. Wait until the temperature lowers a bit so you don't burn yourself while peeling them.
4. Peel them, and it will peel very smoothly!

2. Oats
Oats definitely take time for someone to like it but, it's a healthy and nutritious protein packed food. Not only it helps you fill up, it's good for you. I like mixing my oats into cereal but you can also boil them and add some fruits on this list. It's perfect for breakfast or snack. Make sure you don't overeat, because that's not going to make you healthier or stronger, instead you might just gain extra weight. It's best to intake the right amount!

3. Strawberries
Strawberries are one of the best choices for your snack! While you can eat them dipped in chocolate or sugar, I recommend eating them the way they are since they are already sweet & citrus. There's no prepping time for the strawberries. Take only 3 min, it's that simple. For some fruits, you need to peel it and cut it; strawberries on the other hand, you don't have to go through all of that. (If you are bothered by the leaf, you can either take it out beforehand or just bite it off while eating).

4. Cherry Tomatoes

Tomatoes are great for weight loss. It fills you up pretty quickly which will suppress your appetite on craving other sugary products. Not only tomatoes have less calories, it contains a lot of vitamins and it's also tasty! I mainly eat these cherry tomatoes as a quick breakfast or snack. The tomato I buy from HEB normally does the trick!

5. Greek Yogurt
If you like yogurt, greek yogurt is another great alternative for junk food. You can put fruits, oats or granola inside your yogurt to mix up the taste. If the plain greek yogurt is a bit tasteless, you can go with Siggi's. This brand comes with a variety of flavors such as vanilla, mixed berry, strawberry, peach, and more! You can choose either low or non-fat. My favorite is the blueberry one. They come with different packaging too. Chobani is another brand similar to Siggi's :)

6. Homemade Fruit Smoothie
The blender I'm currently using is the hamilton beach blender & it's super useful! It comes with two different lids: one for blending & another for work or school. In the morning, after blending your smoothie, you can just change the lids without having to pour the liquid into a new bottle. Below, I made strawberry & blueberry smoothie (juice) which was so delicious! I didn't add any sugar or syrup because most fruits contain natural sweetness.

7. Protein/Energy Bar
Craving for cookies or chips? Protein/energy bar is your best bet. Since there are a lot of healthy ingredients associated within the bar, it helps you in many ways (especially if you don't like eating nuts or others like me). While there are a lot of brands out there, these three are where I get mine: Special K, KIND, & Nature Valley. These all have protein bars, but I personally think KIND has the most healthy bars, and Special K & Nature Valley's have more delicious snack bars. But make sure not to overeat these, because they also contain sugar. What's your favorite brand?

8. Tangerine/Orange

While tangerines and oranges are both low-calorie options used in salad, juices or desserts, they have their differences! Tangerines are smaller, sweeter and softer. Oranges are bigger and citrusy.
They both are rich in minerals & vitamin C. I prefer tangerines over oranges since they are easier to peel and more chewy. :P

9. Cucumbers

Cucumber is a good snack for anytime! Buy some cucumbers, cut it into 7-8 pieces and start eating! Seriously cucumbers have barely no calories, it's hydrating, and you can also use it for your skin. It brightens up and cleanses your skin as well. I normally eat it plain, or sometimes use gochujang(korean hot pepper paste) along with it. They go well together!

10. Popcorn

Popcorn is another good snack to share! If you just make it at home without adding butter, it will be low calorie basic popcorn. Did you know the name popcorn is from the popcorn sound? When you microwave corn, it sounds "pop!" and that is why it's called popcorn!!

11. Apples

Apples are great for mornings. This is because apple will help & boost your digestion if you eat it in the morning. It also fills your stomach leaving you to be full at least two hours. While you can just take a bite out of the big apple, I prefer cutting them down into pieces since it's better for your teeth! There are a lot of types of apples. (like a lot!) My favorite is the Ambrosia. It's sweet and soft!

Below is the shrimp salad with avocado, tomato, and cucumbers! If you like healthy meals like this, check out these healthy and quick homemade recipes.

14. Seaweed

Seaweed contains low-calorie but it makes a great snack. There are different types of seaweed. The roasted seaweed where you eat with rice, or the seaweed/kelp that goes inside your soup. Both of them are good for you! Seaweed cleans your blood & boosts your digestion.

15. Hempseeds

Hemp seeds are great for weight loss! Linked is the hemp seeds that I am currently eating few scoops a day. It tastes exactly like pine nuts. It's smaller and grainier, so you can either eat few scoops like me or you can mix it with rice. The recommended portion is around 3 scoops! Hemp seeds contain a lot of minerals and vitamins, as well as omega 3&6. It will also help reduce your sugar cravings.

16. Watermelon

This refreshing fruit is perfect after your meal! "Water"melon contains a lot of water so it will keep you hydrated. It is also sweet which is such a better alternative than ice cream or sugary drinks. There are two ways to eat watermelon. You can either cut it all the way down into small square pieces, or you can just cut the top and start scooping your way down. During summer, there's watermelon shaved ice dessert which I really love! You should definitely try it!

17. Grapes

Totally love grapes, especially the seedless ones. Even if there are seeds, I just swallow them because I'm too lazy to pick each of them out inside my mouth. (Do you?) Some people prefer eating grapes frozen! Either way, I think grapes make a great snack. Just pop them inside the plastic containers or plastic bags and it's so easy to carry around. Just make sure you don't squish them under your laptop or other things, and you will be good!
