Happy Valentine's Day! <3
Today I brought "must-know tips" before living in Houston! Check it out :)
1. You need a car
Houston, TX is huge! If you don't have a car, you probably won't be able to go anywhere.
You could use Uber, but then you would have to pay every time you go out;
Having a car is highly recommended.
2. You need to make sure "rain" doesn't impact you
Houston rain is not just any rain. It's level 100. It's powerful, and it always floods (that's because the road/land structure is low). Not to mention, if you read news, you will notice how the flood impacts people, cars, houses, homes, nature!!! Always check the weather before you leave your house!
3. You need to be used to traffic
Houston is a big city! Big city = more people. With almost everyone driving a car, traffic is always crazy. Normally, it tends to get busy on…
Things to keep in mind:
4. There's a lot of restaurants, bars, and café
If you love food, you would want to check out all the food & beverage places in Houston.
From brunch restaurants, romantic dinner restaurants to cozy café, hidden neighborhood gems, bars, nightlife, I think there's no better way than spending time while eating and trying out new places!
Some Useful Apps: OpenTable, Yelp & Trip Advisor
5. Snow doesn’t fall, but hail does.
Since I never saw hailing before, when it hailed, I did not know what was going on!
I saw these small snowballs falling from the sky, and I was like "WTF?"
It smelled like weird air coming from a laundry machine.
It scared me a lot since I felt like my car's window was about to break. But it didn't.
Anyways, it would sometimes hail so, beware!
6. Fickle weather.
You know, I never saw a weather that changes easily like this one.
One minute it's storming and pouring, the next minute it's bright and sunny. The third minute it gets cold again, and the fourth minute it feels good.
So, basically when you leave your house, bring cardigans & an umbrella.
7. Cowboy/Rodeo spirit is strong
I actually haven't be involved in any cowboy/rodeo events.
However after asking my friend:
